I post good music, things I obsess over, and whatever is going on in my mind. Don't mind me.
white girls can’t wear bindis because in sixth grade one time i was dropped off at school by my aunt who was wearing a bindi at the time and some girl’s mom whispered to her friend how she would never let her daughter play with me because my family had probably been happy about 9/11 and then four years later that daughter showed up to school wearing a bindi as part of her “”“boho”“” look

Sometimes I had simple, attainable dreams and my life was all figured out.
But I wouldn’t be me if I did.@11 hours ago with 1 note
Come to think of it, I recall being teased on multiple occasions about bindis (aka “Gandhi dots”) and henna in elementary school.
Then again I didn’t really give a fuck and was proud of my culture by 6th grade.
Around 2nd or 3rd though I once came home and asked my parents why weren’t Christian because Christians are the best. I also remember ruining my hair by cutting bangs to look more like the white girls in my classes, I remember being very aware that I was the only Indian girl in my class and grade even (until third when another Indian girl came in and so did a guy).@8 hours ago with 3 notes
